Not long ago, Chrisette had to go through a rough phase in her relationship with Doug. However, it seems the Grammy-awarded singer is back in the game. The 35-years-old recently revealed that she is engaged to Doug via her social media handle, Instagram.

Chrisette Michele’s Lawsuit Against Her Now-Fiance Doug
Months ago Chrisette had herself indulged in some legal proceedings against her boyfriend turned fiance Doug. Though they already out of it, the topic is still a thing in the media.
Michele filed a lawsuit against Doug just because things had turned sour in their in their relationship. The pair who were intended to live together forever had never imagined that they would have to go through such a phase in their life. Talking about the matter, she said to The Scoop Reloaded,
He said, give me a year, and I’ll have you signed to a major label,” Chrisette said. “He had about two weeks, and I was signed to Def Jam, so that was the beginning of our business relationship. Early on to the business relationship, things got crazy! If you’ve never read about it, if you’ve never heard about it, we were in the midst of a crazy, crazy lawsuit, litigation situation with each other, and we hadn’t spoken for literally seven years.

As a result, she left Def Jam and started her own label, Rich Hipster. Although she moved on then, she admits that she missed him.
I had fun with it, but I knew something was missing. I called Doug, and after speaking to him for only a couple of hours, we were inseparable again. It’s the craziest, weirdest thing because we had gone through all that together.
Well, just a few weeks into their separation, both of them genuinely realized that they were not meant to live separately. However, Doug was the one to break the ice.
The Coming Back of Love Birds And The Proposal
Like it is said, some pairs are made to be together, and it seems, the case is true for Doug and Chrisette. Just a few weeks apart from each other, they were back again realizing their love for one another.
The couple who met each other for the first time in their music school was soon back again, further, taking their relationship a step ahead. Talking about the reunion, and the proposal, she said.

There’s flower petals on the ground, the Empire State Building is in the background, and here he is, dropping down to one knee, and opening up a box, I couldn’t do anything but scream and every kind of reaction I don’t think you’re suppose to have.
